Our solutions for industrial signage

Our laser machines are quick and easy to operate. They are compatible with various laser sources depending on your requirements. We recommend using a CO2 source for plastic marking and foil signage, and a fiber source for engraving metal plates. Please note that the fiber laser source does not support cutting operations.

  • LS100: Compact CO2 laser table for quick, silent marking and cutting of signs: auto-focus and intuitive interface included.
  • LS100 EX: Medium-format gantry laser matching A3/quarter-sheet size, optimized for small-series signage production.
  • LS900: Large-format laser cutter with dual source (CO2/Fiber/Edge) and print & cut support for fast, versatile industrial signage.

Our rotary engraving and cutting machines represent the standard technology for metal-based signs. They are the optimal solution for conducting deep engravings that endure over time and withstand harsh environments. These versatile industrial machines can engrave and cut without constant supervision. Please note that the marking result may lack contrast.

  • M20 X: Small, custom engraving machine ideal for all purposes, such as industrial signage, featuring a touchscreen interface.
  • M40: Compact rotary engraver with open structure: ideal for on‑demand large or irregular signage.
  • IS400: Heavy‑duty rotary CNC engraver: built for reliable, unattended batch signage production.
  • ISX000: Large and extra-large format CNC engraving machines, designed for large format jobs, industrial cutting, and batch labeling.

Our extensive selection of engraving materials provides compatibility with industrial environments, as well as a vast array of color combinations to meet diverse needs.

We offer a wide choice of material thicknesses (from 0,025 to 10 mm or 0.004 to 0.393'') and constitution (foil, ABS, PMMA, aluminum, brass, rubber).

    Which applications in industrial signage?

    Area identification labels

    Area identification labels play a crucial role in guiding employees by clearly identifying the different places or spaces.

    Work areas, storage facilities, safety zones… Area identification labels are essential for efficient navigation, ensuring operational effectiveness both indoors and outdoors.

    Our Gravoply Laser range is ideal for these applications, with a strong contrast and resist to chemical cleaning product.

    Cables & Pipes

    Cables & pipes labels clearly mark the nature of liquids and materials circulating within networks.

    By providing accurate and precise labeling, industries can effectively mitigate risks and enhance overall productivity.

    The implementation of comprehensive signage solutions facilitates easier maintenance and troubleshooting processes, streamlining operations and minimizing downtime.

    When it comes to identifying valves and taps, it's more often appropriate to use labels and tokens suspended from a chain.

    ID tags and labels

    Designed to identify technical elements in industrial environments, ID labels and tags have to fit perfectly into their environment: in dimensions, weight and fastening. They also have to hold up to certain conditions: resistance to UV rays, solvents, abrasion and impact.

    Despite all these potential attacks, they must remain clearly legible in all situations. Laser or mechanical engraving is the ideal solution to ensure perfect information legibility and long durability of the tag.

    Made from plastic, aluminum, anodized aluminum or stainless steel, ID tags and labels are used in the automotive, aerospace, IT or even telecom sectors.

    Harsh environments

    Signage materials must be carefully chosen, especially in harsh environments

    • Choose non-flammable materials in environments with a fire hazard, such as Gravostrat™;
    • Select lightweight signage materials for aerospace applications;
    • Opt for chemical and solvent-resistant engraving materials for industries with high levels of contamination;
    • Finally, choose materials resistant to weather conditions (such as wind, UV radiation, or salty air) for outdoor signage.

    For example, nuclear power plants, railway rolling stocks and submarines are among the most demanding environments in which Gravotech materials are used.

    FAQ: the 4 questions most frequently asked of our experts

    🔽How do you ensure industrial signs withstand harsh conditions?

    Durability depends above all on choosing the right material (non-flammable, resistant to weather conditions, and chemical/solvent). It is the material and its suitability for the machine that enable it to withstand temperatures, chemicals, and cleaning products.
    For example, laser engraving on plastic raises questions, as plastic can be affected by chemical environments. On the other hand, mechanical engraving on metals (such as stainless steel) offers superior resistance to extreme environments, ensuring long-term legibility.

    🔽What is the best engraving machine for industrial signage?

    For plastic signs and mass production, the LS900 laser table is one of the best choices, offering a large working area of 610 x 610 mm (24'' x 24'') and high engraving speed.
    For heavy industry and durable metal signs, the ISX000 rotary engraver is a great option. It is compatible with hard materials such as anodized aluminum and stainless steel. This sign engraving machine is suited to complex environments, chemical attacks, etc.; it can also be machined.

    🔽What types of materials are used for industrial signage?

    Industrial signs primarily use bi-layer plastic, such as Gravoply™ Ultra, for optimal legibility and contrast. For demanding environments, metals like steel, stainless steel, and anodized aluminum are preferred. The material choice ensures the sign withstands harsh conditions and meets compliance standards.

    🔽What is the right engraving technology for durable industrial signage?

    The durability of a sign is tied to the engraving depth. For that, mechanical engraving is recommended for durability on metals and plastics as it creates a deep recess. Laser marking on metal is another option, but the engraving will be more superficial.
    Deep rotary engraving ensures the sign remains legible even after exposure to harsh conditions.
